Try Try Again

Finally, at the urging of many friends I have entered the world of Twitter. If I say its overwhelming does that make me look like an idiot? Don’t even get me started on the whole Facebook thing. I’m all about keeping it simple and this looks like WORK. Friends say once I get the hang of it, it WILL get easier. Face it, I can’t even keep up with my own blog! Now I’m twittering (ok that just doesn’t even sound right)!

My family’s world has been a little wild and upside down lately. We’re (I’m) getting back on track now. Things I’m currently working on:
  • Learning the whole Social Networking thing
  • Better time management
  • Adding exercise into my daily routine
  • Potty training toddler boy
If you can relate to this or have suggestions, let me know!

Realistic Expectations

You know that I am all about keeping things simple. Too much stuff (mental or material) complicates life and leads to stress overload. We get irritable, we procrastinate, the downward spiral seems unending. Rather than New Year resolutions I am trying to evaluate what has and has not worked for me this past year. Updating this blog on a monthly basis is more realistic than weekly right now. God first, family second…then everything else. Liberating indeed.

Priorities

It seems like FOREVER since I have had the opportunity to sit at the computer. The feeling that there is never enough time prompts me to discuss it in this latest post. In the valiant effort to keep the house clean, get the laundry done, stock the groceries, pay the bills, etc., it is so easy to let the really important things slip. In our never ending to-do list, have we forgotten our Lord, our spouse, our children? Sure we spend time with them but are we really with them – engaged in them or just beside them? My two year old is growing at lightening speed. It hurts to know that his requests for “rock me, please” will be less and less as he matures. So I spend 30 extra minutes in the rocker with him, so the house is not perfect, so I get up a little earlier tomorrow to make up the slack…so what. These precious moments remind me to get my priorities straight. What is on the top of your to-do list? Bump it for extra prayer time with God, a picnic with your kids, a movie with your husband, coffee with your mum – the chores will wait.
